Quilt Tool Instructions
Fabric Cutting Instructions
Figure 1
- Select the tool that will create the size finished block (6", 8", 9", 10" or 12") you desire.
- Determine the number of square patches (2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 or 8) across the top of the finished block you will be creating.
- Decide which patch type (Square, Half Square Triangle, or Quarter Square Triangle you need to cut.
- Position the fabric on cutting surface and square up the edge of fabric.
- Place the tool on top of the fabric so that the "Patch
Type Cutting Edge" you want to create is parallel to the squared up edge of the fabric. (See Figure 1)
- Position the numbered dashed line on the tool that corresponds to the number of patches across the top of the finished block and the type of patch (Square, Half Square Triangle, or Quarter Square Triangle) you want to cut on the squared up edge of the fabric. (See Figure 1)
- Rotary cut the fabric along the "Patch Type Cutting
Edge" you want to create.
This will create a fabric strip.
- Position the fabric strip on the cutting surface and square up the short edge of the fabric strip.
- Place the tool on top of the fabric so that the "Patch
Type Cutting Edge" you want to create is parallel to the squared up short edge of the fabric. (See Figure 1)
- Position the numbered dashed line on the tool that corresponds to the number of patches across the top of the finished block and the type of patch (Square, Half Square Triangle, or Quarter Square Triangle) you want to create on the squared up short edge of the fabric. (See Figure 1)
- Rotary cut the fabric strip along the "Patch Type
Cutting Edge" you want to create. Remove the square patch.
- Reposition the tool on the remaining fabric strip repeating 9, 10, & 11 until you have the number of squares needed.
