I never liked making half square triangles or even worse the dreaded quarter patch triangle, BUT last year at the Dallas Quilt show I bought this neat set of rulers and I am so glad I did! They are called the Zero Math Patch Tool.
For the first time in my life I am making perfect half square and quarter square triangles. It took me until January of this year to try them out and I kick myself for taking so long. I thought that from the demo they would be hard to learn, they are easy.
It is a 5 ruler set. Each ruler makes both the HST and the QST for a specific size block. One ruler each for 6'', 8'', 9', 10', and 12'', blocks.
You cut, you sew, come out with blocks that are not on the bias, and no paper to rip and/or distort . I love them!
