Old Maids Puzzle

My granddaughter asked for a quilt using colors of brown and burnt orange. Wow, that would not be my first choice for color, but hey, I had to try to please this lovely child. Using the Old Maid's Puzzle traditional block and sashing it ,made a beautiful quilt. If you look closely, the blocks are the same, but by varying the fabric choices it looke like connectiong blocks and also notice the secondary star where the blocks join.
