Zero Math Quilting Rulers & Square on Point Quilting Rulers

How to Read a Block

Using the Zero Math Quilt Rulers Is As Simple As 1 2 3:

1. Select the ”Zero Math Quilt Ruler” for the size you want your finished block to be. (See Quilt Ruler Catalog)

The “Zero Math Quilt Rulers” come in 5 finished block sizes
(6, 8, 9, 10 and 12 inch).

Each quilt ruler
is designed to create multiple accurately
sized patches
to fit that specific finished block size.

2. Identify the patch type you want to cut. (See Patch Unit Types)

Each of the Zero Math Quilt Rulers easily create the
following accurately sized patches including seam allowances:

Square              (6* - 8 Sizes)
Half Square Rectangle       (3 Sizes)
Third Square Rectangle  (1* - 2 Sizes)
Quarter Square Rectangle    (1 Size )
Half Square Triangle     (6* - 8 Sizes)
Quarter Square Triangle  (6* - 8 Sizes)
Flying Geese Units         (4 Sizes)
Square on Point           (4 Sizes)
Strips              (6* - 8 Sizes)

* 6” Zero Math Finished Block Quilt Ruler

3. Determine what portion of the block that specific patch spans.

1/1 (All), 1/2, 1/3, 1/4, 1/5, 1/6, 1/7, 1/8 or 1/9 of the block

Your Cutting Method Does Not Change.

You still cut strips then cut the strips into individual patches. Because of the precise positioning of the dash lines on the quilt rulers the accuracy of the strips and patches is the only thing that changes. Accurately cut patches are the first step to perfect blocks.

Your Sewing Method Does Not Change.

Use which ever method your most familiar or comfortable with to assemble the patches. Sometimes the individual project will dictate the method of assembly. Because of the accuracy of the patches the assembly is much faster.
